Available Knives

I'm back to squashing steel and grinding blades all day!

Well, life has changed again. On Tuesday July 18, 2006 I was "let go" from my flying job. I had two years, five months of flying with  some great  pilots, in wonderful equipment. I ended up with about 1325 hours in the C208. I believe that things do happen for a reason though. So as of 7/19/06, I am back to being a "full time" knifemaker.

I'm really glad to be back to knifemaking, full time. In fact, I don't think I've been this excited about any "job" in over ten years. I will spend the next few weeks going through my waiting list. Once I see how much of it still exists, I will plan out the knife production for the next six months. Any changes in order status can be seen here: knife ordering

Knives I have for sale, to the general public, will be posted here. Since I have such a large waiting list, I will offer speculation knives to those on my current waiting list first. Since some of those on the list have been waiting for over thirteen years, I feel that I owe them first chance at anything I make on a speculation basis. Then, after a couple days, I will offer them here.

It's kind of funny, The last time I had a knife up here was exactly a year ago. The folder below was put up for sale on New Years Day 2006. Hopefully, since I'm back to full time knife making, I will have more in the near future.

Large Utility Knife (Or Light Camp, or Heavy Kitchen Knife)

I've had the blade for this for some time. I finished it up when a customer didn't send the money for his order. I had to get something done, and pay the bills. It doesn't have a sheath yet, although one will be included. I'll make one to the buyers desires. The specifics are below.

Blade:
O1/L6 Damascus, 160 Layers, Random Pattern
7.65" Long, 1.66" Wide, 0.245" Thick at Guard
60.5 HRC, Salt Bath Martempered, Triple Tempered
All Damascus tang and cap threading. Nothing is welded on for the tang.

Handle:
Flamed Walnut, Oil Finish
5.05" Long, 1.34" Wide at Guard, 0.719" Thich at Guard, 1.62" Wide at Butt, 0.931" Thick at Butt
Balance Point: At front copper spacer. A light "fast" blade feel.
120+ year old wrought iron fittings. They are etched to show the grain and slag inclusions.
Oval section in front, tapering to a teardrop shape at the butt.

Misc.
11 - 12 ounce total weight. Weighed on my crummy diet scale.
I'll get my logo on it today.

Mokumet

Meteorite Damascus Folder: This is a case where the customer said he would take two or three. I made three. He took two.

This knife has a 2 3/4" blade of meteorite and O1. The meteorite is Gibbeon from Africa. Twist pattern.

The handle is brass, copper and nickel silver mokume. The handle is etched to a fairly deep relief for "gription". The color doesn't show well here. But, I think it is some of the nicest mokume I have ever made.

The knife disassembles for cleaning and maintenance. I made the screws from PH 13-8 stainless. A wrench is included.

As always, there is a five day inspection period. If you don't like it, send it back for a full refund.

Price: $1200.00

Sold 1/1/06

Thank you for looking.
